San Francisco may not seem like your typical rodeo - and it isn't! - but the City caters to all interests, including the Cow Palace's annual Grand National Rodeo. Urban Air Market popped up in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco on Sunday, August 18, 2013, and joined by planners and representatives of Pier 70 and Forest City, to share proposed development plans for Pier 70 with the wider San Francisco community. The marketplace housed unique artisan vendors at the edge of the Bay.

Photojournalist Catherine Herrera lived in the Mission District of San Francisco after moving to the City to work on a PBS documentary. Like so many City residents, the effects of gentrification were impossible to miss, and which she began documenting beginning with the market slow-down in 2007. The 2020 COVID pandemic might have been much worse had there been no assistance for rental and other support.

'Relations' is a series taken of the de Young Museum while filming and documenting the Native American Programming Committee meetings and presentations from 2009-2011. The members of the NAPC reflect San Francisco and Bay Area's diverse Native and Indigenous community. In 2012, I presented a short documentary and video installation, 'Bridge Walkers,' which screened in the Viewing Tower - the first time in the museum's history - as a site-specific installation. You can view images from that screening under the 'Bridge Walkers 2012' Portfolio from the drop down menu.
In 2013, I am editing the first 30-minute program of 'Relations,' featuring Kim Shuck and Michael Horse.
'Relations' Series Prints can be purchased directly by clicking on the image. Online donations to current projects are appreciated for broader distribution. http://www.fracturedatlas.org/site/fiscal/profile?id=3453
